About Henderson

Henderson is Nevada's second-largest city with over 320,000 residents, and it consistently ranks among the safest cities in America. Located just southeast of the Las Vegas Strip, Henderson offers a more suburban, family-oriented lifestyle while keeping you minutes from everything Vegas has to offer. The city stretches from the master-planned communities of Green Valley and Anthem in the south to the luxury enclaves of MacDonald Highlands and Ascaya in the hills, and east to Lake Las Vegas, a Mediterranean-inspired resort community built around a 320-acre private lake. Henderson's growth over the past two decades has been remarkable. What was once a small industrial town (founded in 1953 as a magnesium-producing center for WWII) has transformed into one of the most desirable places to live in the Southwest. The Water Street District downtown has been revitalized with restaurants, breweries, a farmers market, and community events. For real estate, Henderson offers incredible range. You can find starter homes in the mid-$300Ks, established family homes in Green Valley and Seven Hills from $450K-$800K, luxury homes in Anthem and Southern Highlands from $800K-$2M, and ultra-luxury estates in MacDonald Highlands and Ascaya from $2M to $20M+.

Living in Henderson

Living in Henderson means having everything within reach without the chaos of the Strip. Your morning might start at a coffee shop in the Water Street District, where the farmers market sets up on weekends with local produce, food trucks, and live music. Families are drawn here for the schools. Coronado High School and Green Valley High School are among the best-rated in Clark County. The parks system is excellent, with splash pads for kids, miles of multi-use trails, and community centers with pools and fitness facilities. If you're outdoorsy, Henderson is a gateway to nature. Lake Mead is 30 minutes east for boating, fishing, and beach days. Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area has one of the most significant petroglyph sites in the Southwest. And the River Mountains Loop Trail connects Henderson to Boulder City and Lake Mead with 34 miles of paved path. Dining has exploded in Henderson over the past few years. Green Valley Ranch Resort has casino dining. The District offers everything from sushi to BBQ. And the new restaurants popping up along St. Rose Parkway (near our office) are bringing farm-to-table and international cuisines that rival anything on the Strip. The commute to the Strip is 15-25 minutes depending on where in Henderson you live. The 215 Beltway and I-515/US-95 make it easy to get anywhere in the valley.

Our Agent's Take

Henderson is where I live and it's where I raise my family. There's a reason it keeps winning 'Safest City' awards. The neighborhoods here have character. Green Valley feels established and mature. Anthem has those mountain views that make you stop your car. MacDonald Highlands is pure luxury with Dragon Ridge and the Strip views. And the new communities like Inspirada and Cadence are bringing fresh energy and young families. What I love most is the variety. A first-time buyer can find a great home here, and so can someone looking for a $5M estate. That range is rare in one city.
